Player Journey – Pep's Playground Challenges
This document outlines the different steps the players go through in the Pep's Playground experience. We also show the tentative UI for the different experiences. The UI is full of motion, uses the branding elements, colors and fonts from the campaign while keeping the energy up.
1.Sign Up
Guests register on the iPad at the entrance.
After registration, a thank you message appears along with a short challenge overview explaining the experience and how to participate.
2.Enter and Play
This is the set up for games if not being controlled or hosted by Top Baller and are running alone.
Guests can explore freely and visit any challenge station in any order.
To start playing, the guest approaches a "Referee" at the selected station. (if station is not hosted by Top Baller eg. Passing)
The Referee (promoter) uses our Pep's Playground Control app to check in the guest using their phone number or username.
Games
Shooting Challenge
Targets on the goal light up randomly. Guests have 5 attempts to hit the targets. The more targets they hit the better. Speed as a variable can also be integrated. TBD with Top Ballers.
Passing Challenge
Passing targets on the barricade light up randomly. Guests need to pass and hit as many targets as possible within 30 seconds.
Ball Drop Challenge
The ball drops from the top of the cage. Players need to control it within the rings. The closer to the center ring, the higher the score.
1v1 Challenge
Mechanics TBD by Top Ballers.
3.Scoring
The Referee (promoter) uses our Pep's Playground Control app to input the score manually or it can be registered automatically by game when it allows.
Scoring for 1v1 and Gunslinger to be discussed with Top Ballers on best way to calculate.
Demo mode added for testing day.
4.Leaderboard
After the game, the guest's score appears on the live leaderboard display.
If a player participates again in the same challenge, their score updates automatically rather than creating a new entry.
The leaderboard can separate by age or gender if required for fairness
5.Rewards
The top x number of players in any of the 3 challenge categories will win prizes.
Players are not required to complete all challenges — participation in any single game counts toward the leaderboard.
6.Top Baller Integration
Based on the flow of the event and how Top Baller will manage it, we will integrate the games and scoring systems accordingly.
We are building the flexibility to be able to have a referee with Top Ballers handling score inputing and player check-in so the leaderboard gets updated with Top Baller activities in real time as they interact.
That would allow us to use the leaderboard as part of the show - where they can point to see the score reveal and who's leading etc.
This is a dynamic document and will be continuously updated based on feedback. After discussing with Top Ballers and Visa team, dynamics will be adjusted accordingly.
